Quick Design Tips That Work

If you are not that altogether knowledgeable on how colour works when designing your twitter page, fanpage or website, here are a few quick ideas you will not go wrong with.  Design in a monochromic colour (ie: all red, all blue) and use different shades of that colour, instead of mixing colours that may not go together. Add grey text, grey features and try to avoid real primary 'in your face' colours. Instead use subtle shades like a red that edges towards burgundy or a pastel version of the primary colour you like. If you keep to these tips you won’t go far wrong. There are some great resources on the web about colour theory and design, so if you want to do something different, do you homework first! Make sure it visually works...don’t just wing it and hope for the best. I don’t want to see any horribly harsh bright black and yellow websites form you people! Think elegant and subtle or funky and cool!
